Freedom's Jolie Prize

JolieJolie, now known as Kimba, arrived safely from Montana to Virginia. She quietly unloaded and walked to her new pasture buddies. I am very impressed with the information and helpfulness  in dealing with Joy Knudsen and family. Kimba was everything she was described as. A very well rounded, sane, horse. Evidence of a horse handled and trained since birth. She easily  moved off pressure, backed, gave her feet etc. Cant tell you how nice it was to get a near two year old that was handled like I would have one of my own. Kimba loves attention, loves people,  its like she has been hereher whole life.

Lucasia Sir Duke

DukeI had never bought a horse sight unseen before but once I saw Duke on-line I had to have him. I was very impressed with the coloring and confirmation of these Spotted Drafts. From my first discussions with the Knudsen Family, I instantly felt they were in this business for the love of it and most important to me, they were emphasizing only the best temperaments into their program.

So I did it, bought my first Spotted Draft and had him shipped all the way to Florida. Upon arrival, the transport company handlers said "he was one of the best behaved babies they ever shipped across the country," I had hoped this was a good sign. IT WAS! I am also sure the Knudsen's early handling really prepared him for such a journey.

Duke is now two, friendly and smart and continues to demonstrate his willingness to learn anything presented to him. He already acts like a horse that has been broke for years and is just a dream to work with. I am now counting the months and can't wait till I start him under saddle.

Konots Royal Romeo

RomeoWe have had "little" Romeo for two months now, and I can't say enough about how well behaved and very kind hearted he is! Nothing bothers him. He loves grooming time, and stands tied in his stall perfectly for it, thanks to your early teaching! Romeo has great manners when leading in or out of the barn, and waits patiently at the gate for us to come get him in the evening. No matter what new thing we try with him, I think you must have already dome it! For instance, we put a bareback pad with a girth on him, and he never flinched at it. We walked him all around with it on!

I think he is gonna catch up with his momma in size one day, as he has already gotten much bigger. He just turned nine months old, and is almost as tall as my quarter horse!

We keep Romeo in a paddock near the road, and he catches a lot of eyes! We see people stop and look at him quite often. He is very handsome, if I must say so myself! Now I just have to be patient until he is old enough to start under saddle, then Lydia and I will have some fun together!

Thank you for the wonderful baby!

P.S. If I ever want another Spotted Draft it would be one of yours!

Chief's Bella Doll

I wasn't even in the market for another horse when I was browsing the "draftsforsale.com" website. I certainly wasn't looking for a baby! I ran across Bella's picture and it was love at first sight. My husband even had to agreeBells she was very striking... and half the battle was won!

From the first contact with the Knudsen's, I had the warm fuzzy feeling I was hoping for. Everything fell into place. Since I live in Wisconsin, this became a long distance transaction, with one heck of a road trip.

Bella was so quiet and level-headed for the trip home, I was amazed. She even stood perfectly quiet in the trailer, without a whinny or a stomp, waiting for the state trooper to arrive after her new mom hit a deer! The Knudsen's had done such a great job with her.

Bella is now twenty-two months old, well over sixteen hands tall, and just as sweet as they come. She's the horse I've always looked for ... but never found.

Chief's Royal Baron

I have had my spotted draft, Baron, since February '07.

He has been a gem. Very intelligent, calm and friendly. He is the first to come out of the pasture to greet me and follows right behind me when I am doing clean up. He has picked up on basic ground work easily without shyness or spookiness. The Knudsen family has been proffesional, friendly, helpful, and honest before, during and after the purchase.

I have nothing but the highest praise for the Knudsen family and their horses.

Chief's Princess Olivia

We want to thank A.P.D. Horses for producing such a tremendous foal, surely the best one we oliviacould ever have come across! We simply cannot thank you enough!  Since the very first time we contacted you, you have made us feel like family.  Chief's Princess Olivia is as you described, and more!   She is sound, gentle, accepting, intelligent, willing, and so trusting; definitely a testament to the handling she received from  you.

In this day and age, it can be risky to buy an animal, sight unseen, from the other side of the country, but our experience with you has demonstrated to us that this can be done with great success!

We can't wait to see your 2009 foals !!!!

Fondly,
Don and Lori Y.
